It was released to iTunes February 3, 2009 as part of an EP titled ''Cover Girl - The RuMixes'', and released again as track three of the ''Champion'' album. On January 5, 2009, RuPaul released the world premier of his single ''Cover Girl'' on his MySpace profile and his blog. It was premiered as a promotional video which included footage from ''RuPaul's Drag Race'', a reality TV show formatted similar to ''America's Next Top Model''.
